It sits between the drive output and the motor cable to limit the rate of voltage rise (dV/dt) and reduce capacitive charging currents in long cable runs, protecting the motor insulation from reflected-wave damage.
The 110 A maximum rating (Ithmax) governs the continuous current the reactor can carry without exceeding its thermal limits. The 4000 Hz rated frequency matches the switching frequency of modern IGBT-based drives — a reactor rated for 4 kHz carrier frequency will handle the harmonics without saturating the core.
