SENTRON 5SU1354-7VK32 — RCBO for final circuits
The Siemens SENTRON 5SU1354-7VK32 is a combined residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) in a 2-module-wide (36 mm) package, rated 32 A at AC with a C tripping characteristic and Type A fault-current sensitivity. It breaks faults up to 10 kA per EN 60898 — a standard for household and similar installations — so it handles the typical prospective short-circuit current at the final sub-distribution board in a commercial or light-industrial panel. Type A detection means it trips on sinusoidal AC residual currents plus pulsating DC fault currents up to 6 mA smooth DC — the right choice for circuits with single-phase rectifiers, switched-mode power supplies, or variable-speed drives that generate pulsating leakage.
Current derating and wiring capacity
Full rated current of 32 A holds at 30 °C ambient; derate progressively to 24.64 A at 70 °C. That thermal curve matters when the RCBO sits in a crowded enclosure — the 11.4 W maximum power dissipation adds to the internal temperature rise, so group several units and the derating compounds. Terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 mm² up to 35 mm² — covers everything from 1.5 mm² lighting tails up to 10 mm² final-circuit feeders. The 77 mm depth and 70 mm installation depth fit standard 85 mm deep distribution boards with clearance for outgoing cables.
