Type B+ and short-time delayed — what that means for your circuit
Type B+ RCCBs detect AC, pulsating DC, smooth DC, and high-frequency residual currents — the + suffix adds immunity to nuisance tripping from 50/60 Hz line-frequency leakage that can occur in circuits with VFDs, UPS systems, or EV chargers. The short-time delayed design (IEC 61008-1 rated 0.8 kA) introduces a deliberate trip delay, giving downstream MCBs or fuses time to clear a fault first. This selectivity is critical in multi-level distribution where you want the branch breaker to open, not the main RCCB.
Panel integration and environmental limits
Silicon-free construction suits environments where silicone outgassing can contaminate contacts or optics. Overvoltage Category III means it is rated for fixed-installation distribution level, not for downstream equipment-level protection.
Power loss and supplementary devices
Supply voltage for the test circuit is 70 V minimum, with the supply cord position at top or bottom (top preferred for SIGRES function to remain active in switched-off state).
