What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 5SV4614-0KL is a 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) from the SENTRON 5SV4 family, designed for AC fault current detection at 300 mA. It snaps onto a DIN rail (36 mm wide, 2 width units) and fits standard distribution boards — the 70 mm depth keeps it flush with most enclosures, so no panel-door clearance surprises. Rated 40 A at 40 °C ambient, with a derating curve that drops to 17.62 A at 70 °C. The 10 kA short-circuit current rating (SCCR) means it can safely interrupt faults up to that level without cascading upstream — a solid number for commercial and light industrial panels where the available fault current is typically under 10 kA.
Wire range and termination
Terminals accept solid or stranded copper from 0.75 to 35 mm². That's a wide enough clamp to handle a 40 A feed with a 10 mm² conductor and still fit a 35 mm² incoming if the panel design calls for it. Supply can land top or bottom — no polarity worry on an RCCB, but keep the neutral on the N-left side (product variation N left).
Environmental and compliance
Rated IP20 with connected conductors in an installed distribution board. Ambient range -25 to +45 °C operating, storage from -40 to +75 °C.
