What this RCCB does and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 5SV5612-0 is a 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB), Type AC, rated 25 A with a 300 mA trip sensitivity. It operates on a 230/400 V AC supply at 50 Hz, and is designed for instantaneous fault clearing — no intentional short-time delay. The 6 kA short-circuit current rating (IEC 61008-1) means it can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without upstream damage, sized for typical distribution board protection. Mounts on a standard DIN rail (REG) and occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm). The IP20 rating applies when installed in a distribution board with conductors connected — it is a panel-protected device, not a standalone outdoor unit. Ambient range is -25 °C to 45 °C operating, with -40 °C storage tolerance.
Panel fit and integration notes
At 70 mm deep, it clears a standard 80 mm deep distribution board. Supply can enter from top or bottom. No supplementary devices (auxiliary switches, shunt trips) can be added — this is a standalone RCCB. The silicon-free construction suits environments where outgassing must be avoided, such as paint shops or clean assembly areas.
