Thermal derating — the number that matters for real loads
The 8 A rating holds only up to 35 °C ambient. Above that, the bimetal strip heats faster and the breaker must derate to avoid nuisance tripping: 7.51 A at 40 °C, 7.26 A at 45 °C, 6.99 A at 50 °C, 6.72 A at 55 °C, and 6.43 A at 60 °C. If your panel internal temperature runs 50 °C, size the load at 7 A max, not 8 A.
