It is designed for branch-circuit protection in industrial control panels, suited for mechanical engineering and industry environments. Characteristic A trips between 2 and 3 times rated current, making it appropriate for protecting semiconductor loads or long cable runs where standard B or C curves might not coordinate.
Temperature derating and real-world current
The 2 A rating is at 35 °C ambient. At 40 °C the breaker carries 1.9 A, at 45 °C it is 1.85 A, at 50 °C it drops to 1.8 A, at 55 °C to 1.75 A, and at 60 °C to 1.7 A. If the panel runs warm — common in a densely packed enclosure — factor these numbers into the load calculation rather than relying on the 35 °C figure.
