Per the datasheet, it carries 50 A at 35 °C ambient, derating to 47.6 A at 40 °C, 46.35 A at 45 °C, 45.1 A at 50 °C, and 43.75 A at 55 °C — so if your panel ambient runs above 35 °C, the continuous current you can draw is the derated value, not the nameplate 50 A. The breaking capacity is rated 6 kA per EN 60898-1 and 10 kA per IEC 60947-2; the higher 10 kA figure applies when the breaker is used under the industrial standard, which is the one that governs in a panel with a known prospective fault current above 6 kA. It is certified to IEC / EN 60898-1 and IEC / EN 60947-2, plus UL1077 — so it carries the approvals for both European and North American supplementary-protection applications.
The sealable feature allows a lock or tag to be fitted to prevent unauthorized reset, which matters on a line where lockout/tagout procedures apply.
The SENTRON 5SY series is a broad family of MCBs; the 5SY6550-7 is the 50 A C-curve 2-pole variant. If your BOM specifies a different current or curve, the same physical footprint and terminal design carry across the range — no panel rework needed for a rating swap.
