SENTRON 5SY7632-7CC — 32 A C-curve MCB, 4-pole with switched neutral
The Siemens 5SY7632-7CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a 4-pole (3P+N) design, a C tripping characteristic, and a rated current of 32 A at 35 °C ambient. It is rated for a 25 kA breaking capacity per IEC 60947-2, making it suitable for industrial panel protection where high fault currents are possible. The neutral pole is switched, so this unit isolates all four conductors on a fault — a requirement for TN-S or TT systems where the neutral must be broken alongside the phases.
Temperature derating and panel fit
The 32 A rating holds at 35 °C; at 40 °C it derates to 30.24 A, at 45 °C to 29.31 A, at 50 °C to 28.35 A, and at 55 °C to 27.36 A (–). If the panel ambient runs above 35 °C, the connected load must be reduced accordingly — or the branch circuit sized for the lower figure. The unit occupies 4 modular width units (72 mm wide, 90 mm tall, 76 mm deep) with a 70 mm installation depth (–,). It snaps onto DIN rail via the quick assembly system and can be mounted in any position. The IP20 rating, with connected conductors, means it is protected against finger contact but not against moisture — suitable for a dry indoor panel, not a washdown zone.
Materials and environment
The housing is halogen-free and silicon-free, which avoids corrosive off-gassing in a confined panel — relevant for adjacent silver contacts or electronics. The sealable design allows the installer to lock the handle in the off position for lockout/tagout. Ambient operating range runs from -40 °C to 75 °C, with humidity limits of 95% up to 55 °C, 55% up to 70 °C, and 35% at 75 °C. The unit is designated for mechanical engineering and industry.
