The 6EP3436-8UB00-0AY0: Rated current holds at 17 A up to +60 °C ambient; above that, derate 2 % per Kelvin up to +70 °C. That derating curve matters if the supply shares a poorly ventilated enclosure with heat-generating kit.
Efficiency and approvals
94 % efficiency at rated load — that's better than the 90–92 % typical of older SITOP Smart or standard series. Less waste heat means a smaller enclosure or tighter packing density. Carries cULus listing to UL 508 and CSA C22.2 No. 107.1 (File E197259), plus CE and EAC. No ATEX or IECEx, so not for Zone 2/22 environments without an upstream isolation barrier. Shipbuilding approvals from ABS and DNV GL are on file — relevant for marine or offshore panel builds where classification society sign-off is required.
Snaps onto DIN rail EN 60715 35×7.5/15 — standard profile. No drilling, no backplate adapter. IP20, so it's for inside the cabinet only. Input terminals:, L2, L3, PE — one screw terminal each, accepting 0.2…4 mm² single-core or finely stranded. Output side: two screw terminals each for + and -, same wire range. No ring-tongue crimps needed. Required upstream protection: a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker 6…16 A, characteristic C, or Siemens 3RV2011-1DA10 (setting 3 A) or 3RV2711-1DD10 (UL 489). Don't skip this — the supply has no internal input fuse.
Clearance and environment
Maintain 50 mm clearance above and below the unit for natural convection cooling; zero clearance on the sides. Stacking units without that vertical gap will derate the output prematurely. Operating range -25…+70 °C with natural convection; storage and transport -40…+85 °C. The 3.5 mA maximum leakage current (0.9 mA typical) is low enough to avoid nuisance tripping on standard 30 mA RCDs.
