What It Is and What It Does
The Siemens 6ES7132-4BB31-0AB0 is a current-production ET 200S 2-channel source output module rated at 2 A per channel, drawing power from the 24 V DC backplane. It provides PNP (source) outputs, each capable of 2 A continuous with a maximum module current of 4 A. Response threshold for overcurrent is 4 A typical; short-circuit protection is channel-based and can be disabled/enabled via diagnostics. Diagnostics function detects wire-break (threshold 12 Ω to 3 400 Ω) and short-circuit per channel. On CPU/master STOP, the module can substitute a configured 0 or 1 value or keep the last value — deterministic behavior for fail-safe segments. Reverse voltage protection is present only when sharing the same load voltage as the power module. Polarity reversal can cause the outputs to be connected through; verify the rail topology before wiring.
Physical Fit and Slot Allocation
The module occupies a 15 mm wide slot on the ET 200S terminal block, with a depth of 52 mm and height of 81 mm. This width is the same as many 2-channel modules, so plan your I/O count and station bus length accordingly. Shielded cable runs up to 1 000 m and unshielded up to 600 m. Switching frequency on resistive load is 100 Hz; with inductive load (0,5 H) it drops to 2 Hz. Power loss is 1.4 W typ, minimal for thermal planning in dense cabinets.
