Ex-rated output module for ET200iSP
The Siemens 6ES7132-7GD10-0AB0 is a 4-channel digital output module for the ET200iSP distributed I/O system, carrying Ex ib (ia Ga) IIC T4 Gb, Ex ib [ia IIIC Da] IIC T4 Gb, and Ex ib [ia] I Mb certifications. Each transistor output switches 27 mA at 17.4 V DC nominal, with a 150 Ω internal resistor limiting fault current; connecting outputs in parallel doubles the current capacity to 54 mA.
Supply voltage and diagnostics
The module draws 260 mA from the 13.3 V DC load voltage L+ (plus up to 300 mA for the actuator supply) and 10 mA from the 3.3 V DC backplane bus — the supply voltage is 13.3 V DC, not the usual 24 V DC, so confirm the ET200iSP power supply matches this. Diagnostics include a parameterizable group error SF (red) LED, per-channel green status indicators, and readable diagnostic information covering wire-break (detected when R > 10 kΩ and I < 100 µA) and short-circuit (detected when R < 800 Ω on a single output, or R < 40 Ω with parallel outputs). Channel-to-channel isolation is not provided, but the channels are isolated from the backplane bus and from load voltage L+ — important to note when sharing field wiring across channels.
Switching performance and cable length
Resistive load switching is rated at 100 Hz max; inductive loads drop to 2 Hz max due to the energy-limited intrinsically-safe output circuit. Both shielded and unshielded cable runs are supported up to 500 m, giving flexibility in field wiring layout across a process plant.
