Four 4-20 mA channels, sealed for the panel
The Siemens 6ES7134-4GD00-0AB0 is an ET 200S analog input module with four 4-20 mA inputs, each pulling into a 25 Ohm burden. It draws its 24 VDC from the power module on the rail — no separate loop supply needed unless the transmitter requires more than the module's internal supply can source. Resolution is 13 bits including sign over the 4-20 mA range, with a maximum cycle time of 40 ms across all channels. Integration time is parameterizable at 16.67 or 20 ms, matching 50/60 Hz line rejection.
The 15 mm wide housing clips onto the ET 200S DIN-rail assembly, and the 52 mm depth keeps it inside the standard enclosure footprint. At 40 g and 0.6 W typical power loss, it adds negligible thermal load to a crowded panel. Short-circuit proof at roughly 200 mA per module — if a loop shorts, the module limits current rather than blowing a fuse. Wire-break detection is active only in the 1 to 5 V measuring range, not on the 4-20 mA range, so a broken loop on a 4-20 mA transmitter will read 0 mA without a diagnostic flag unless you configure the range accordingly. The module supplies voltage for 2-wire transmitters through the input terminals, which simplifies wiring — no external loop power supply needed for each channel. Isolation is tested at 500 VDC between channels and the backplane bus, but there is no isolation between channels and load voltage L+.
