4 differential inputs, 16-bit resolution, Sigma-Delta conversion
The Siemens 6ES7134-6GD01-2BA1 is a 4-channel analog input module for the ET 200SP distributed I/O system. It accepts differential inputs in the 0 to 20 mA range at 16-bit resolution including sign, and the 4 to 20 mA range at 15-bit resolution. The integrating Sigma-Delta measurement principle filters high-frequency noise at the converter, so the reading you log is the process value, not coupled interference. Each channel is configurable for 2-wire or 4-wire transmitters, and the module detects wire-break on 4 to 20 mA loops — a standard diagnostic that saves chasing phantom opens on a panel with 50 loops.
BaseUnit compatibility and physical fit
Automatic encoding means the module identifies itself to the bus adapter on insertion; no DIP switches to set. The usable BaseUnits also support 2-wire and 4-wire connections, so the wiring scheme is determined by the BaseUnit selection, not the module itself.
Diagnostics and channel-level visibility
The module reports group error, diagnostic alarm, overflow/underflow, and channel-specific diagnostics between the 2-wire current input group and the 4-wire voltage input group. A green LED per channel shows channel status; a combined green/red LED indicates module diagnostics. No per-channel diagnostic LED — the group alarm goes to the CPU, and you read the exact channel via the diagnostic buffer. Wire-break detection is active on 4 to 20 mA ranges; short-circuit detection covers the encoder supply to ground or an input to the encoder supply in 2-wire mode. These are the diagnostics that keep a loop-powered transmitter fault from looking like a bad module.
