What this IO-Link master does in the panel
The Siemens 6ES7143-5AH00-0BL0 is an IO-Link master module for the ET 200 family, handling 8 digital outputs that draw supply from the 2UA+ rail of the IO-Link master itself. It speaks IO-Link protocol 1.1 at 38.4 kBd (COM2) and carries an IODD file for device configuration. Rated for SIL 2 per IEC 62061, it can sit in a safety-related control loop provided the rest of the chain — sensor, logic, actuator — also carries the same SIL rating. The diagnostic alarm is parameterizable, and the module reports channel status via green LEDs and a combined green/red module diagnostics LED.
Temperature range and enclosure — where it survives
Ambient operating range is -30 °C to 55 °C, which covers most indoor control cabinets and outdoor enclosures in temperate climates provided the enclosure itself is rated for the low end. Electrical characteristics — what drives the wiring

Input signal thresholds are -3 to +5 V for a logic 0, and +11 to +30 V for a logic 1, with a typical current draw of 3 mA at signal 1. Minimum cycle time is 3 ms, with switching delays of 1.2 ms to 4.8 ms for both rising and falling edges. Unshielded cable runs up to 30 m are supported — adequate for most sensor-to-module distances in a machine cell. Isolation is tested at 707 V DC (type test), with no channel-to-channel isolation between the digital inputs.
