Analog input slice for Pt100 and Ni100 RTDs
The Siemens 6ES7144-5KD00-0BA0 is a 4-channel analog input module for the ET 200AL distributed I/O system, designed specifically for resistance thermometer measurements. It accepts Pt100 and Ni100 RTDs in standard and climate ranges, covering the two most common platinum and nickel sensor types used in HVAC, process, and machine temperature loops. Rated for a -30 °C to 55 °C operating ambient, this module handles both cold storage environments and warm cabinet interiors without forced cooling. The 24 V DC rated supply draws a typical 1.5 W power loss, keeping the thermal load on the backplane low.
SIL 2 safety-rated temperature measurement
This module carries a SIL 2 rating per IEC 62061, meaning it can be used in safety-related control systems up to that integrity level for temperature monitoring. The integrating measurement principle and parameterizable diagnostic alarm (wire-break detection on 4-20 mA and 1-5 V ranges, plus overflow/underflow and limit value alarms) give the safety function the diagnostic coverage it needs. Channel-to-channel isolation is not provided, so the module is best deployed where all field wiring shares a common reference potential — typical in a local machine cabinet rather than across long, separately grounded sensor runs.
M8 shielded connection and wiring reach
The ET-Connection uses a shielded M8, 4-pin connector, which mates directly with pre-terminated M8 cordsets. The shielded cable run is rated for up to 30 m, adequate for most machine-mounted sensor clusters. The encoder supply has per-channel short-circuit protection to M, so a fault on one sensor leg does not take down the other three channels. Dimensions are 159 mm height, 30 mm width, 40 mm depth — a slim profile that fits the ET 200AL form factor. The green LED per channel gives a quick visual on channel status during commissioning or fault-finding.
