Overview
The 6ES7212-1AF50-0XB0 is a Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 G2 fail-safe compact CPU 1212FC DC/DC/DC, part of the Fail-safe CPUs series. It carries 200 KB of program memory and 500 KB of data memory with 20 KB retentivity, and provides 8 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs at 24 V DC, all powered from a 28.8 V DC supply.
Function & operation
The 8 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs are 24 V DC rated, sufficient for small safety zones or local I/O on a distributed machine cell. The 28.8 V DC supply is the upper limit of the nominal 24 V DC rail; the CPU accepts 20.4 V DC minimum, giving headroom for voltage drop on long cable runs.
