8-port IO-Link master for the S7-1500 rack
The Siemens 6ES7547-1JF00-0AB0 is an 8-port IO-Link master module that slots directly into an S7-1500 system. It handles both IO-Link V1.0 and V1.1 devices, so you can mix legacy smart sensors with the latest generation on the same module. Each port delivers 1 A, with a total module current of 4 A — enough to power a bank of IO-Link actuators or multi-sensor heads without an external hub. Port type A covers standard IO-Link; port type B adds 24 V DC via an external terminal for loads that need separate power.
Port power and diagnostics that matter on the line
The 1 A per-port rating means you can drive a small valve manifold or a vision sensor directly from the module — no separate power supply needed for each device. The 4 A total cap limits the module to four fully loaded ports or eight lightly loaded ones; plan your device current budget accordingly. Diagnostic alarms are available per port in IO-Link mode only, with short-circuit protection per channel and a wire-break detection flag. The green LED per port shows channel status; red LEDs flag module and channel diagnostics — useful for a field tech walking the cabinet. The module supports I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) and firmware update via the backplane, so you can push a new FW version without pulling the module. Minimum cycle time is 2 ms — fast enough for most sensor-level IO-Link loops.
DIN-rail fit and environmental limits
The module is 35 mm wide, 147 mm high, and 129 mm deep — it occupies one standard S7-1500 slot width. Vertical installation is rated from -30 °C to 40 °C with derating above that; the 40 °C ceiling means you need airflow or spacing in a densely packed cabinet running warm. Isolation tested at 707 V DC (type test) between channels and the backplane. Reverse polarity protection is built in on the 24 V DC supply. Unshielded cable runs up to 20 m are allowed — enough for most sensor drops inside a machine envelope.
