90 kW rated power with 150% overload — the real motor-sizing ceiling
The 6SL3210-1KE31-7UF1 is a SINAMICS G120C compact converter rated at 90.0 kW continuous power, with a 150% overload capability for 3 seconds — that 3-second window is what handles high-inertia starts on conveyors, centrifuges, or crushers without tripping on overcurrent. Input voltage range is 3AC 380-480 V +10/-20% at 47-63 Hz, covering 400 V and 480 V nominal grids globally; the wide tolerance absorbs weak-line sags without dropping out.
Unfiltered — plan for external EMC filtering
This variant ships without an internal EMC filter — the 'U' in the order code signals unfiltered. For CE-marked installations or UKCA compliance, an external line filter must be added to meet conducted emission limits per EN 61800-3. The IP20 / UL Open Type enclosure restricts the drive to indoor, non-washdown panels. Size FSF measures 708 x 305 x 357 mm (H x W x D); plan the gland plate and cable duct clearance accordingly.
Integrated safety and fieldbus — no extra modules needed
Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated per SIL 3 / PL e, eliminating the external safety relay for the drive axis. The PROFINET-PN interface connects directly to a Siemens S7-1500 or any PN controller without a separate communication module. The I/O complement — 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, 1 analog output — handles basic speed reference, run/stop, and status feedback without an expansion I/O module.
External 24 V control logic supply
The control electronics require an external 24 VDC supply — the drive does not generate its own control voltage. This keeps the logic alive even when the main 3-phase power is off, allowing diagnostics and bus communication to remain active.
Active production — standard BAM availability
RoHS compliant since 13-02-17. REACH Article 33 disclosure: the product contains lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w in certain components — standard for power electronics with soldered joints. Export classification AL N / ECCN 9N9999 means no special license for most commercial destinations.
