Duty ratings — high overload vs low overload
The 6SL3210-1PE26-0AL0: The PM240-2 carries two duty ratings in one housing. At high overload (HO), it delivers 22 kW output with 200 % overload for 3 seconds, 150 % for 57 seconds, and 100 % for 240 seconds, all at an ambient of -20 to +50 °C. At low overload (LO), it delivers 30 kW with 150 % for 3 seconds, 110 % for 57 seconds, and 100 % for 240 seconds, but the ambient ceiling drops to +40 °C. The HO rating is the one you size for pump, fan, or conveyor loads that need starting torque headroom; LO works for constant-torque applications where the drive runs near full rating. The built-in braking chopper means you don't need an external braking module for deceleration energy — the chopper dumps the regenerated voltage into an external resistor. The integrated Class A EMC filter meets conducted emission limits for the first environment (residential/commercial) without an add-on filter, saving panel space and wiring.
Mounting and integration — FSD frame, IP20, blocksize format
The FSD frame size measures 472 x 200 x 237 mm (H x W x D). The 'blocksize format' means the power module has a standardized mounting footprint — it bolts into the panel on a backplate, not a DIN rail. IP20 protection means it's intended for inside a cabinet; the enclosure keeps fingers out but isn't rated for washdown or dust ingress. The packaging dimensions are 495 x 356 x 300 mm, so plan for that when staging the panel build. This module ships without a Control Unit or operator panel — you pair it with a CU (like CU240E-2 or CU250S-2) that snaps onto the front interface. The approved firmware version is V4.7 HF8, so if you're commissioning a new line, make sure the CU firmware matches or is field-upgradable to that version.
