Blocksize power module for 380-480 V lines
The 6SL3210-1PE31-5UL0 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM240-2 in blocksize format — air-cooled, no integrated filter, with a built-in braking chopper. It accepts three-phase 380-480 V AC at 47-63 Hz and delivers output rated for either high overload (HO) or low overload (LO) duty. Under HO conditions the module delivers 55 kW continuous with a 200 % overload for 3 s, 150 % for 57 s, and 100 % for 240 s, at ambient temperatures from -20 to +50 °C. Under LO duty it delivers 75 kW continuous with 150 % for 3 s, 110 % for 57 s, and 100 % for 240 s, at -20 to +40 °C ambient.
Duty cycle and thermal envelope
The HO rating matters when the driven load demands short-duration torque peaks — conveyors with breakaway torque, crushers, or extruder feeds. The 200 % for 3 s ceiling means the drive can handle starting current without tripping, but the 240 s recovery period between overloads must be respected to avoid I²t accumulation in the IGBT junction. LO rating suits centrifugal pumps and fans where the load torque follows the square of speed — the 75 kW continuous rating at 40 °C ambient is the economic fit, with 150 % overload margin for occasional transients like valve closure. The blocksize format (708 x 305 x 357 mm HxWxD) requires a minimum enclosure depth of about 400 mm to accommodate the power cabling bend radius at the bottom entry.
Lifecycle and compliance documentation
RoHS compliance effective from January 1, 2017. REACH Art. 33 disclosure notes lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1 % w/w in the candidate list. Export control classification is AL: N / ECCN: 9N9999 — no special licensing required for most industrial destinations. The module ships without a Control Unit (CU) or operator panel — the CU must be ordered separately and is approved for firmware version V4.7 HF8 or later. The firmware version should be confirmed against the BOM's installed base to maintain change control.
