Dual overload rating — HO vs LO defines the load
The 6SL3210-1PE33-7AL0: The PM240-2 FSG carries two distinct duty ratings in one frame. High Overload (HO): 160 kW with 200% for 3 s, 150% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s at ambient -20 to +50 °C. Low Overload (LO): 200 kW with 150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s at -20 to +40 °C. The HO rating is the one to size against if the load cycles hard — crushers, extruders, centrifuges. The LO rating fits variable-torque loads like pumps and fans where the peak demand stays inside 110%.
Built-in braking chopper — no external module needed
The module integrates the braking chopper on the DC bus. For applications that need rapid deceleration — conveyors stopping under load, unwinders, hoists — the chopper dumps regenerative energy into an external resistor without requiring a separate braking unit. Saves a DIN-rail slot and the wiring between modules.
CU firmware version lock — check before commissioning
This power module is approved for Control Unit firmware V4.7 SP9 and V5.1. If the existing CU in the rack runs an older or newer firmware revision, the module may not communicate or may derate unexpectedly. The firmware version is a hard gate — confirm it before the module arrives on site.
FSG frame — panel layout and cooling
The FSG frame measures 1000 x 305 x 357 mm (H x W x D). It is an air-cooled blocksize module — the cooling airflow path is front-to-back, so the panel must allow clearance behind the module for exhaust. IP20 means it is intended for a cabinet; no washdown rating, no outdoor exposure without an enclosure.
Active production — still a current catalog item
This is not a legacy or phase-out part — it remains in Siemens' current portfolio.
Regulatory compliance — RoHS and REACH documentation on record
RoHS compliance effective 01-01-18. REACH Article 33 declaration: Lead CAS-No. 7439-92-1 > 0.1% (w/w) is present. Export control classification AL: N / ECCN: 9N9999. These declarations are available with the product documentation.
