Duty ratings that govern motor sizing
The 6SL3210-1PH24-2UL0: Rated for high overload (HO) at 30 kW output with a duty cycle of 200% for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 seconds, and 100% for 240 seconds at ambient temperatures from -20 to +50 °C. Under low overload (LO), the module delivers 37 kW with 150% for 3 seconds, 110% for 57 seconds, and 100% for 240 seconds, but the ambient ceiling drops to +40 °C. The HO rating is the one to use when the motor must accelerate a high-inertia load or handle intermittent overloads — the 200% for 3 seconds covers starting torque for most fan and pump profiles.
Input voltage range and built-in braking chopper
Accepts 3-phase AC input from 500 to 690 V with +10/-20% tolerance at 47 to 63 Hz, covering 525 V and 690 V industrial networks across Europe and North America. The built-in braking chopper eliminates the need for an external braking module in applications where the motor regenerates during deceleration — the chopper dumps excess DC-bus energy into an external resistor, preventing overvoltage trips on fast stops.
Regulatory compliance and documentation
RoHS compliant since 01 January 2017. Contains lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above the 0.1% threshold per REACH Article 33, which triggers the duty to inform downstream users — the declaration is on file. Export control classification is AL: N / ECCN: 9N9999, meaning no special license is required for most destinations. The product class is C (manufactured/produced to order), so each unit is built against a specific order and is not a stocked shelf item — the packaging dimensions are 495 x 356 x 300 mm.
Firmware version and Control Unit requirement
Approved for Control Unit firmware version V4.7 HF8 and later. The power module ships without a Control Unit or operator panel — the CU must be ordered separately and mounted on the front interface. This separation allows the CU to be swapped for fieldbus variants (PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, CANopen) without replacing the power stage.
