355 kW infrastructure drive for HVAC and water/wastewater
The 6SL3220-1YE58-1CF0 is a SINAMICS G120X converter rated 355 kW with an overload capability of 135% for 3 s, 110% for 60 s, and 100% for 240 s — the overload profile matches pump and fan duty cycles where peak torque is brief and infrequent, not continuous high-torque starts. Input range is 3AC 380-480 V +10/-20%, 47-63 Hz, with an integrated RFI suppression filter for Category C3 environments. The IP20 / UL open type enclosure suits installation in a clean indoor panel or cabinet — not a washdown location, so plan for a separate enclosure if the environment is wet or dusty.
Commissioning and fieldbus integration
Onboard PROFINET PN and Ethernet IP eliminate the need for a separate communication module — the drive appears as a PROFINET IO device on the network, and the IO expansion is pre-fitted. The operator panel is not included; parameter download requires the optional panel or a PC connection via the USS or Modbus RTU port. Ambient temperature rating is 0 to +45 °C without derating. Above 45 °C the output current must be reduced per the derating curve in the operating instructions — the drive is not intended for high-ambient machine compartments without forced ventilation.
Compliance and documentation for qualification
RoHS compliant since 11 March 2020. The REACH Article 33 duty-to-inform declaration notes lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w in the product — this must be reflected in the material declaration if the final equipment is placed on the EU market.
Lifecycle status is active and the product stage is mature — this is a current-production Siemens drive with no announced end-of-life. Availability is confirmed at RFQ; the drive is sourced through authorized Siemens distribution channels and quoted against the BOM quantity. Packaging dimensions are 800 x 1870 x 600 mm — a single-piece shipment that requires a pallet and a lift gate for delivery. Plan the receiving dock and storage space accordingly; the drive cannot be hand-carried.
