The 6SL3220-2YE58-1CB0 is a SINAMICS G120X infrastructure converter rated 355 kW, delivering 135% overload for 3 seconds and 110% for 60 seconds (100% for 240 s). This overload profile matches the starting and transient demands of centrifugal pumps, fans, and compressors in HVAC and water/wastewater service — the drive holds the unit on the grid through a blocked-impeller start or a gust-induced fan torque spike without tripping the motor protection. Input supply is 3AC 380-480 V +10/-20%, 47-63 Hz, with a built-in RFI suppression filter for category C3 environments. The IP20 / UL open type enclosure means it lives inside a panel — not on the wall in a wet mechanical room. Ambient temperature ceiling is 45 °C; above that, the output current derates per the SINAMICS G120X operating instructions.
Fieldbus on board — MODBUS RTU and BACnet MS/TP without an option card
The drive ships with MODBUS RTU, BACnet MS/TP, and USS protocols integrated into the control board. No separate communications module is needed to talk to a building management system or a PLC — the RS-485 terminals are live at power-up. The Basic Operator Panel (BOP) and IO expansion are included in the delivery, so the BOM line is closed without extra line items for HMI or digital/analog I/O. Group code R220 and product group 4R53 are Siemens internal classification tags for logistics and spare-parts ordering. Each unit is built against a confirmed order, so the lead time is the factory production cycle, not a warehouse pick. RoHS compliance is effective since 11 March 2020. REACH Article 33 duty to inform applies — the drive contains lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w in certain components, as stated in the current candidate list. Export control is AL: N / ECCN: EAR99H, so no ITAR licensing is required for standard industrial shipments.
