What the headline ratings mean for fit
The 6SL3220-3YE10-0AF0: Rated 750 W and 2.1 A output at 380-480 V three-phase input — this is a compact VFD sized for small motor loads like fans, pumps, or conveyors in the sub-1 kW range. The 2.1 A figure is the continuous output current; it sets the motor frame size you can drive without derating. Output frequency spans 0 to 550 Hz, which covers standard induction motors up to 50/60 Hz and also supports high-speed spindle applications well above line frequency. The 4 kHz pulse frequency is the factory default; raising it quiets motor noise but derates output current — a trade-off to budget in the panel thermal design.
Dual-protocol interface and I/O
Built-in PROFINET and EtherNet/IP on the same hardware — no option card needed. This makes the drive a drop-in for Siemens S7 controllers (PROFINET) or Rockwell/Allen-Bradley plants (EtherNet/IP) without a gateway. The relay output is rated 30 VDC at 5 A, enough to signal a fault or run a small indicator directly.
IP20 means it is intended for a clean, dry cabinet; no washdown or outdoor mounting without an additional enclosure. Screw terminals simplify field wiring with ring or fork lugs. Operates from -20 °C to 45 °C ambient — fine for most indoor panel environments. Above 45 °C the drive must be derated per the SINAMICS G120X manual; if your panel sits near a furnace or in a hot attic, plan for forced ventilation or a larger frame.
