355 kW at 380-480 V — what the overload profile means for pump and fan duty
The 6SL3220-3YE58-1CB0: Rated power is 355 kW on a 3AC 380-480 V supply, with an overload capability of 135 % for 3 seconds, 110 % for 60 seconds, and 100 % for 240 seconds. For HVAC centrifugal loads (pumps, fans, compressors) where peak torque is low and the drive rarely exceeds nameplate current, the 110 % / 60 s window covers starting and transient events without oversizing. The 135 % / 3 s ceiling handles the magnetizing inrush of a spinning motor reconnecting after a brief power dip.
Fieldbus integration — MODBUS RTU, BACnet MS/TP, USS on board
The drive ships with MODBUS RTU, BACnet MS/TP, and USS as standard fieldbus interfaces — no option card required. For a BMS or SCADA retrofit, the BACnet MS/TP port maps the drive's speed, status, and fault registers directly into the building automation point list. The intelligent operator panel and IO expansion are included, so the drive arrives with local HMI and additional digital/analog I/O for standalone or backup control.
IP20 / UL open type — enclosure planning for size FSH
IP20 (UL open type) means the drive is not sealed against dust ingress or washdown — it must be mounted inside a cabinet rated for the environment. Size FSH packaging dimensions are 800 x 1,870 x 600 mm, so the backpanel layout needs to accommodate the drive footprint plus the required top and bottom cable bending radius for 380-480 V power wiring. The RFI suppression filter is category C3, intended for industrial networks with a separate distribution transformer; for residential or public low-voltage grids, an external C2 filter may be needed at the input.
Compliance documentation — RoHS and REACH declarations
RoHS compliance effective from 11 March 2020. The REACH Article 33 declaration notes lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1 % w/w in certain components — this is typical for power semiconductor die attach and does not affect normal installation or operation. Export control classification is AL: N / ECCN: EAR99H, which means no special license is required for most destinations.
