The ABB 1SFA895007R7020 is a PST72 series softstarter rated for 72 A in-line connection (124 A inside-delta), delivering 37 kW at 400 V in-line or 59 kW inside-delta. It handles main circuit voltages from 400 to 690 V AC at 50/60 Hz, making it a fit for European 400 V and 690 V industrial networks without a step-down transformer. Built-in electronic overload protection eliminates the need for a separate overload relay, saving panel space and wiring. The ramp time is adjustable from 0 to 120 seconds, with initial voltage during start settable between 30 and 70% and a step-down voltage special ramp from 100 to 30%. Screw terminals on the control circuit accept rigid 1 x 2.5 mm², torqued to 0.5 N·m. Main circuit connecting capacity is rigid 1 x 10 to 95 mm², sized for the 72 A rating. Supply circuit connects via rigid 1 x 2.5 mm². The degree of protection on main terminals is IP10 per IEC 60529 and IEC 60947-1 — adequate for enclosed panel mounting, not for open washdown areas. Communication uses a standard FieldBusPlug, allowing direct connection to a fieldbus network without additional wiring. Signal relays are provided for run, fault, bypass, and overload status — four discrete outputs that can feed a PLC or indicate panel status. LED indication: red for fault, yellow for protection.
