The ABB PSE300 1SFA897114R7001 is a soft starter with torque control, built for three-phase induction motors on 208–600 V AC lines. Ramp time is adjustable 0–30 s, with initial voltage set 30–70 % and current limit 1.5–7× Ie. Communication rides Modbus-RTU, so it drops into a PLC network without a separate gateway. Control supply is 100–250 V AC; the separate 24 V DC control circuit handles the logic side.
Main circuit terminals are bars with an 8.5 mm hole — expect lug-type connections. Control circuit terminals accept rigid 1 x 2.5 mm² wire; tighten to 0.5 N·m. Main terminals are IP00 — the unit lives inside an enclosure.
Built-in electronic overload protection covers locked rotor, current underload, and EOL. Three signal relays (run, fault, bypass, overload) give discrete feedback to the controller. Analog output is 4–20 mA for current or torque monitoring. Status LEDs: green for running/ramping, red for fault, yellow for protection trip.
