What it is and where it sits
The ABB ACS180-04N-07A2-4 is a low-voltage AC machinery drive module built around the ACS180 family, taking a 3-phase 380–480 V supply at 47–63 Hz and packaged as a module-mount R1 frame in an IP20 open-type enclosure. The class is the compact end of ABB's general-purpose machinery drive line, sized for panel builders who need a small-footprint converter on a 3-phase industrial bus without a full cabinet.
Line-side electrical envelope
The supply window is 380–480 V across 47–63 Hz on a 3-phase input, with a 0.98 power factor at the line side, so the drive presents a near-unity reactive load to the feeder. The rating is stated for installations up to 2000 m altitude, which is the standard derating knee for LV drives — above that, output current has to be trimmed per the curve.
Control-side I/O and fieldbus
Control wiring lands on 2 analog inputs and 1 analog output, with MODBUS as the listed communication protocol — enough for a Modbus RTU/TCP master to parameterise the drive and read back process variables, and a typical fit where the ACS180 is dropped into a small Modbus cell next to a PLC. No other fieldbus is on the spec line, so a PROFINET or EtherNet/IP gateway would have to be added externally if the upstream controller expects it.
