The ABB AF305-30-00-11 is a 3-pole contactor rated for 312 A, with a dual-voltage coil accepting 20-60 VDC or 24-60 VAC. That coil range covers common 24 VDC and 48 VDC control supplies in industrial panels, plus 24 VAC and 48 VAC where a transformer tap is available — one part number for mixed-voltage installs. The 312 A rating makes it suitable for heavy motor loads, resistive heating banks, or transformer primary switching in the 150-200 kW range on 400 V three-phase, depending on duty class.
What the coil voltage range means in practice
The 20-60 VDC / 24-60 VAC coil is a wide-range electronic coil, not a tapped conventional one. It holds in across the full band without a separate pickup/hold circuit. On a 24 VDC control bus, it stays pulled in even if the bus sags to 20 V during a downstream short — avoids nuisance dropouts. On 48 VDC systems common in solar farms or telecom plants, it runs without a dropping resistor. The AC side covers 24 V and 48 V control transformers; verify the control transformer VA rating against the coil inrush, though the electronic coil typically draws lower sealed VA than an equivalent AC coil.
Mounts on DIN rail or via screw baseplate. At 312 A, the main power terminals accept cable lugs sized for 95-150 mm² copper — plan gland plate entries and bend radius accordingly. The auxiliary contact block (11-12 / 21-22 on this variant) is factory-fitted; no separate aux order needed.
