The ABB 1SFA896115R1100 is a member of the PSR105 soft-starter line, sized to deliver a soft start with voltage ramp across a 208 … 600 V AC operating range at 50/60 Hz. The ramp is the only start profile on board — there is no current-limit function and no switch for inside-delta connection — so this unit is intended for in-line (non-six-wire) motor starts where a controlled voltage ramp is enough.
Start profile the panel will be tuned to
Ramp time is adjustable across 0 … 20 second, and the initial voltage during start is settable from 40 … 70 %. A complementary step-down special ramp is also available, 100 … 60 %. That gives the commissioning engineer two knobs — how long to ramp, and how low to start the voltage — and nothing else: no current-limit means the start current ceiling has to be set downstream. Service factor is 100 %, and there is no integrated electronic overload on the unit. The ABB documentation calls for a recommended MS495 80 … 100 motor protector in series, so the overload function lives outside this enclosure rather than inside it.
Control power, terminals and wiring
Control supply is 24 V AC/DC, with a rated control circuit voltage of 24 V DC and a tightening torque on the control circuit of 0.6 N·m. The control and supply wiring takes rigid conductor 1 x 0.75 … 2.5 mm². Main-circuit connection is by bars — not lugs or ring terminals — and the main terminals are rated IP10 per IEC 60529 / IEC 60947-1, which is a finger-safe rating only and is not a panel-front rating.
Signal relays and fieldbus slice
On the signalling side, the unit carries a run signal relay and a by-pass signal relay, but no fault signal relay and no overload signal relay. Status indication is two green LEDs — running R and ramping up/down. A FieldBusPlug is offered as an optional add-on for comms, not built in.
Compliance pack on the nameplate
The unit is declared compliant with EU Directive 2011/65/EU and Amendment 2015/863 dated July 22, 2019. UL/CSA horsepower rating is 30 Hp at 200 … 208 V AC three-phase. The WEEE classification is category 5 (small equipment, no external dimension more than 50 cm) and the trade channel is Business To Business.
