The ABB 1SFA897107R7000 is a PSE72-frame soft starter with torque control, sized for 208–600 V AC three-phase motors at 50/60 Hz. The control circuit runs on 24 V DC and the control supply accepts 100–250 V AC, so the cabinet needs both rails wired in. Ramp time is programmable from 0 to 30 seconds, initial voltage is settable from 30 to 70 percent, and the current limit is adjustable from 1.5 to 7 times the set motor current — the three knobs that decide soft-start behavior on the bench.
Modbus-RTU is the fieldbus interface and a 4–20 mA analog output is available, which gives the SCADA layer both a serial register map and an analog mirror of motor current without extra transducers. Main-circuit terminals accept cabling into 8.5 mm holes, control-circuit and supply terminations are rigid 1 x 2.5 mm² screw terminals, and the control circuit is torqued to 0.5 N·m.
Compliance paperwork
