The ABB S803B-C80 is a 3-pole high performance circuit breaker rated 80 A, built to IEC 60947-2 and EN 60898-1 at 400 V AC. It handles both distribution and motor branch-circuit protection where you need the higher breaking capacity of the IEC 60947-2 curve — the 10 kA Icn covers the service-entrance fault level, and the 16 kA Icu gives you headroom for upstream coordination in a panel with a transformer feeding a high-fault bus.
The 80 A nominal current (In) sets the continuous load limit — size your upstream cable and bus for that, not less. The 10 kA Icn is the rated short-circuit capacity per EN 60898-1; the 16 kA Icu per IEC 60947-2 is the ultimate breaking capacity, meaning it can interrupt a fault up to 16 kA once and still be functional afterward. That gap between Icn and Icu is typical for a high-performance breaker — the Icu tells you the device won't blow apart on a high-energy fault, even if you replace it after. Operational voltage is 230/400 V AC, so it works in single-phase or three-phase panels.
Dimensions are 81 x 82.5 x 95 mm — fits standard DIN-rail enclosures. The connecting capacity accepts flexible cable up to 19 mm²; tighten to 3.5 N·m.
