The ABB S803S-D100 is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker from the S800S series, rated at 100 A with a D trip curve. The D curve means it's built for loads with high inrush currents — think motor starters, transformers, or welding equipment — where the magnetic trip threshold is set higher (10–20× In) to ride through the startup spike without nuisance tripping. The 50 kA interrupting capacity at 230 VAC tells you it can safely clear a hard fault up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream.
Panel fit and mounting
Snaps onto standard DIN rail (EN 60715). The 3-pole footprint takes three module widths — factor that into your enclosure fill before you start punching the gland plate. Spring-cage terminals accept 0.2–2.5 mm² solid or ferruled stranded; strip length 8 mm avoids whiskers under the cage.
