It carries the EKIP DIP LS/I electronic trip unit — a field-adjustable, LSI (long-time, short-time, instantaneous) protection curve that covers most distribution and feeder applications without swapping the breaker body.
The EKIP DIP LS/I trip unit gives you on-site adjustment of the long-time pickup (Ir), short-time pickup (Sd), and instantaneous (Ii) thresholds via rotary dials — no software, no plug-in module. That's useful when the load calc changes after commissioning or you need to coordinate downstream breakers without swapping the frame. The three-pole, fixed-front-terminal (FF) configuration bolts directly onto a busbar or cable lug in a switchboard or panel. The UL listing means it's accepted for US and Canadian installations per NEC/CEC without additional third-party evaluation. The XT7S frame is a compact design relative to its 1200 A rating — fits in a smaller enclosure footprint than older ABB SACE or Tmax frames.
