What this sensor brings to your line
The Omron E2E-X20D230-TR 5M is an M30 shielded inductive proximity sensor with a 20mm sensing distance — that's the 3x extended range version of the E2E NEXT family. It's a normally-closed 2-wire DC unit running on 10 to 30 VDC, terminated with 5 meters of PVC robot cable that's actually bend-resistant, so it holds up on moving arms or tight cable tracks. Rated IP67, IP67G (oil-resistant), and IP69K — that last one is the key: high-pressure, high-temperature washdown. If your application sees caustic sprays or steam cleaning, this sensor lives through it without needing a separate cover. The nickel-plated brass housing and PBT sensing face are standard for food-grade and chemical environments.
Mounting and wiring
Short-body design keeps the overall length at 60.3 mm with a threaded portion of 38 mm, so it fits into tight manifolds or panels. The 5-meter cable gives you reach to the first junction box without a splice. Shielded construction means it can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the sensing range. 2-wire DC wiring is straightforward — watch the voltage drop at the load with longer cable runs, but at 5 m it's fine for typical PLC inputs.
