Omron E3FB-DP132M is a cylindrical M18 diffuse photoelectric sensor with a 1 m maximum sensing range on a 7 mm opaque target. The PNP output switches up to 100 mA with a 0.5 ms response, and you can select light-on or dark-on operation by wiring. The brass housing is rated IP67 and IP69K, so it handles washdown environments without an extra enclosure.
How it compares to the plastic NPN sibling
The closest functional peer in the E3F family is the E3FA-LN122M — same diffuse sensing method, same 2 m prewired cable, same IP67/IP69K seal. But the E3FA-LN122M is NPN output and plastic-bodied, with a shorter 200 mm range. If you're replacing an E3FA-LN122M socket, the E3FB-DP132M will not drop in without rewiring: the PNP output and brass housing mean you need to verify the input card type and the mounting hole material (the E3FB is 18 mm diameter vs the E3FA's 17 mm, so the mounting hole may need adjustment). For a fresh install, the 1 m range gives more headroom.
Mounting and wiring notes
The M18 thread accepts standard 18 mm through-hole or bracket mounts. The 2 m prewired cable has bare unterminated leads, so you'll need to land them in your field wiring or a quick-connect header. The supply voltage is 10-30 VDC with reverse-polarity protection on the power input, and the output is short-circuit protected. An orange LED indicator shows the switching state. Keep the cable length under 100 m for reliable 100 mA switching; the response time of 0.5 ms is fast enough for moderate-speed object detection on conveyors.
