Overview
The 140CPS11420 is a Schneider Modicon Quantum power supply module, order code 140CPS11420, accepting 115/230 VAC input and delivering a regulated 5.1 VDC output at 11 A with a 130 VA rating. It is designed for the Quantum automation platform and can operate as a standalone unit or be summed with another supply for redundant or higher-current configurations.
This module converts 115/230 VAC line power to a 5.1 VDC bus that powers the Quantum rack and its I/O modules. The 11 A output current and 130 VA rating define the total load the supply can support — enough for a fully populated local rack with a mix of discrete and analog modules. An internal output overload protection circuit handles fault conditions without external fusing, though a 2 A slow-blow fuse is specified for the AC input line. A green LED (PWR OK) on the front panel indicates the supply is delivering nominal voltage. The alarm output is a normally-closed contact rated 6 A at 220 V, wired to signal a power supply fault to the PLC or a remote annunciator. Harmonic distortion on the AC line must stay at or below 10 % of the fundamental RMS value for reliable operation.

The 140CPS11420 sits in the backplane of a Modicon Quantum rack, providing the DC logic power for the CPU and all expansion modules in that chassis.
