What this MCB is for
The ABB S803S-D32 is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker with a D trip curve, rated 32 A and mounted on DIN rail. The D curve means it tolerates the high inrush currents typical of motor loads, transformers, and welding equipment — it won't nuisance-trip on startup the way a B or C curve would. The 50 kA interrupting rating at 400 VAC tells you it can safely clear a fault up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream, which is what you need for high-capacity industrial panels.
Panel fit and deployment
Snaps onto standard DIN rail — no tools needed for mounting, just clip it in and wire the 3 poles. The 32 A rating and D curve make it a natural fit for motor branch circuits, pump panels, or compressor starters where the inrush can hit 10–14× full-load current. The 50 kA SCCR at 400 VAC gives you headroom for coordination studies in high-fault-capacity installations.
