The 40 A AC-7A rating covers resistive and lightly inductive loads like heating banks or lighting circuits. The 15 A AC-7B rating is the one to check for motor switching — it reflects the higher inrush and inductive break duty typical of small pumps, fans, or compressors. Electrical durability is specified per duty cycle: 100,000 cycles at 40 A AC-7A, 30,000 cycles at 15 A AC-7B, and 30,000 cycles under AC-3 (cage motor starting). Mechanical durability is 1,000,000 cycles, so the contactor outlasts its electrical life in most applications. The 54 mm width (9 mm pitches × 6) fits standard modular enclosure spacing. Power circuit terminals accept 6-25 mm² rigid or 6-16 mm² flexible cable; control circuit terminals accept 1.5-2.5 mm². The action indicator provides local signalling of contactor state.
