Part overview and key ratings
The Schneider Electric A9CR1263 is a 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) from the Acti9 RED series, rated 63 A at 230 V AC, 50 Hz, with a 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity (Type A). It is designed as a recloser — after a fault trip it attempts up to 3 automatic reclosures at 10-second intervals, with a minimum 180-second pause between cycles, stopping if the insulation fault persists. This makes it suited for TN-S or TT earthing systems where transient faults (e.g., lightning-induced leakage) are common and a permanent trip would cause unnecessary downtime.
The 63 A rated current (In) and 30 mA sensitivity mean this RCCB protects a final subcircuit (outgoer position) against earth leakage while carrying the full load current of a typical lighting or general-purpose power distribution board. The Type A classification detects pulsating DC fault currents as well as sinusoidal AC — required for circuits with single-phase rectifiers, switching power supplies, or variable-speed drives that can generate smooth DC leakage.
The 54 mm wide (9 mm pitch × 6) unit occupies 6 module spaces in a distribution board. The sliding cover on the front provides toggle control and a manual test button (operational above 100 V). The green/red LED indicates RCCB and recloser status.
