The Schneider Electric A9D10816 is an Acti9 iC60 RCBO — a combined residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection in a single 18 mm wide module. The 10 kA breaking capacity at 230/240 V AC (Icn per IEC 61009-1) means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding its contacts or cascading upstream — sized for residential and light commercial distribution boards where the prospective short-circuit current stays under that limit. The C-curve trips between 5 and 10 times rated current, so the 16 A unit holds through motor inrush and transformer energisation but clears a hard short fast. Thermal-magnetic trip technology gives a bimetal element for overload and a solenoid for short-circuit — no electronics to drift. Rated 16 A at 50 °C; if your enclosure runs hotter, derate per the manufacturer's thermal curve.
Integration notes
Tightening torque is 3.5 N·m on the top connection, 2 N·m on the bottom. Wire stripping length is 14 mm for the top, 13 mm for the bottom.
