It protects a single-phase final subcircuit against both overload/short-circuit (thermal-magnetic trip, C-curve) and earth leakage (10 mA sensitivity). Rated 6 A at 30 °C, it's sized for lighting, small appliance, or control transformer circuits where personnel protection from ground faults is required.
The 10 mA earth leakage sensitivity is tighter than the standard 30 mA used for socket-outlet protection; it's meant for wet locations, medical equipment, or any circuit where a lower fault threshold is specified by code. Breaking capacity is 6 kA Icn at 230/240 V AC, 50 Hz — adequate for most residential and light commercial distribution boards, but check the prospective short-circuit current at the point of installation; if it exceeds 6 kA, you need a current-limiting upstream device or a higher-rated breaker.
DIN rail integration and wiring
Clip-on mounting to standard DIN rail, 2 module pitches (18 mm each). Neutral on the left, phase on the right. Tunnel-type terminals: upstream accepts 1–16 mm² rigid or flexible, downstream 1–10 mm². Strip lengths are 13 mm upstream, 11 mm downstream. The white housing carries a toggle switch with ON/OFF indication and a contact position indicator, plus locking facilities for lockout/tagout. IP20 rated — fine inside an enclosure, not for wet washdown.
Listed as current production (active lifecycle stage). The Acti9 range is Schneider's standard residential and light commercial platform, widely specified in Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Asia and the Middle East. Complies with AS/NZS 61009.1 and IEC 61009-2-2. Rated insulation voltage 400 V AC. Electrical endurance 10,000 cycles, mechanical 20,000 cycles.
