Panel-builder commissioning notes
The Schneider Electric A9D47232 is an Acti9 iC60 RCBO — a combined residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection in a single 36 mm wide, 2-pole module that clips onto a DIN rail. It carries a 32 A rated current (In) with a B curve magnetic trip (3...5 x In), meaning it will trip instantaneously on short-circuit currents between 96 A and 160 A — standard for general-purpose resistive and light inductive loads where no high inrush is expected. The integrated earth-leakage protection is set at 30 mA sensitivity, covering both poles. That 30 mA threshold is the standard for personal protection against indirect contact in TN and TT systems — it catches leakage to ground well below the let-go threshold. Breaking capacity is rated at 10 kA Icn (service) and 15 kA Icu (ultimate) at 220...240 V AC, 50 Hz, per EN/IEC 61009-2-1 and EN/IEC 60947-2 respectively.
The IP40 rating (in enclosure) and IP20 (terminal side) make it suitable for standard distribution boards — not washdown environments, but fine for dry indoor panels. Tropicalisation class 2 means the internal components are treated against humidity and fungal growth — relevant for panels in warm, damp climates or non-air-conditioned electrical rooms.
The tunnel-type terminals accept 1...35 mm² rigid or 1...25 mm² flexible cable, with a stripping length of 12 mm and tightening torque of 2 N.m. That terminal range covers most outgoing circuit wiring from 2.5 mm² up to 10 mm² for a 32 A circuit. Local signalling shows ON, OFF, and fault trip status — visible through the enclosure window without opening the door. The toggle control is manual reset after a fault; no remote shunt trip or undervoltage release is integrated in this base variant.
