The A9DC1950 is a three-pole-plus-neutral residual current breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) from the Acti9 iC60 range. It combines a 50 A thermal-magnetic circuit breaker (C-curve) with a 30 mA earth-leakage detection module in a single 54 mm wide unit that clips onto a DIN rail. The 10 kA breaking capacity at 400/415 V (Icn) means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level on a 400 V three-phase network — sufficient for most commercial and light industrial outgoing circuits where the prospective short-circuit current stays under 10 kA. The 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity provides additional protection against electric shock for personnel — standard for socket-outlet circuits and general-purpose final circuits in many jurisdictions.
Deployment context
The device is designed as an outgoer in a distribution board, not for incoming main switch duty. The IP20 finger-safe terminals are fine for enclosed panels; not rated for washdown environments. Screw-clamp terminals accept 1 to 25 mm² rigid or 1 to 16 mm² flexible conductors, with separate stripping lengths for top (14 mm) and bottom (11 mm) connections — a detail that matters when pre-cutting wires for a tidy panel layout. Rated for TN earthing systems and AC networks at 50/60 Hz. The neutral position is left — verify this matches your busbar arrangement before wiring. The toggle control provides local ON/OFF indication and the unit can be padlocked with a 4 mm diameter padlock or lead-sealed for lockout/tagout.
Compliance documentation covers AS/NZS 61009.1, IEC 61009-1, and IEC 61009-2-2 — the relevant standards for RCBOs in Australia/New Zealand and international markets.
