Breaking capacity is 6000 A Icn at 230 V AC.
40 A rated current and C-curve (5–10 x In magnetic trip) suit general-purpose resistive and moderate inductive loads — lighting, socket circuits, small appliances. The 30 mA earth-leakage threshold provides personal protection against direct contact; it's the standard sensitivity for final circuits in most domestic and commercial installations per IEC 60364. Thermal-magnetic trip technology means the thermal bimetal handles sustained overloads (time-delayed) while the solenoid trips instantaneously on short-circuit. No electronic auxiliary supply needed — it's self-powered and fails safe if the neutral is lost upstream. The 1P+N format switches the phase only; the neutral is switched internally and monitored for leakage but not overcurrent-protected. Neutral on the left per the terminal layout — verify busbar orientation if replacing an existing RCBO with neutral on the right.
Tunnel terminals accept 1–16 mm² rigid or 1–10 mm² flexible; strip length 14 mm, tightening torque 2 N·m. IP20 rated (finger-safe terminals), IP40 inside the modular enclosure.
Current production. Acti9 range is Schneider's active modular DIN-rail platform; iCV40N is a standard catalogue line.
