That dual rating means it's certified for both industrial panel (60947-2) and domestic/distribution (60898-1) applications. The 50 kA figure gives headroom on high-fault panels — useful downstream of a transformer or in a plant with stiff utility feed. At 12–60 V DC the Icu drops to 15 kA, still adequate for most DC control circuits.
