The Schneider Electric A9F05203 is an Acti9 iC60N miniature circuit breaker (MCB) rated 3 A, D curve, 2 poles, designed for distribution in AC and DC networks. The D curve is the key selection parameter here: it allows the breaker to ride through the startup surge without opening, while still providing overcurrent and short-circuit protection.
This MCB carries dual certification to EN/IEC 60947-2 (industrial) and EN/IEC 60898-1 (household / similar). The practical difference: under 60947-2 it is rated 50 kA Icu at 380…415 V AC, which is the ultimate breaking capacity — the breaker can safely interrupt a fault up to 50 kA once and still be functional afterward. Under 60898-1 it is rated 6000 A Icn at 400 V AC, the service breaking capacity for residential-grade coordination. The 2-pole version isolates both phase and neutral in single-phase or DC circuits; the suitability-for-isolation marking confirms it can be used as a disconnecting means per both standards.
The double terminals accept 1…25 mm² rigid or 1…16 mm² flexible, with a stripping length of 14 mm and a tightening torque of 2 N.m. IP20 finger-safe terminals for enclosed panel use. The toggle has a contact position indicator and a separate trip indicator window — useful for quickly identifying a tripped breaker without toggling it. Earth-leakage protection requires a separate Vigi iC60 block; this MCB alone does not provide GFCI.
