The thermal-magnetic trip unit handles the overload side; the magnetic element handles the short-circuit side. It's dual-rated to EN/IEC 60947-2 (utilisation category A) and EN/IEC 60898-1, so it can serve either distribution board or industrial panel duty — the 60947-2 rating gives you the higher breaking capacities for industrial coordination studies.
